Why should we join the GTR?

The GTR team has been researching and brain-storming ideas to make this 7-day tour your first and … counting!

 

How many cars will take part in the GTR?

We are currently booking and ideally welcome up to 35 cars on the tour to ensure it will be cozy.

 

What is the accommodation like?

We have chequed before booking the superior hotels along the way, to ensure you sleep as well as you drive during the GTR.

 

Is our car suitable?

Any retro, vintage and classic car is eligible for the GTR.

 

What support does the GTR provide?

There will be a GTR mechanics crew for help along the way, and 24-hour assistance for any other problems you may encounter, including a doctor. Furthermore, Dimitris Vazakas, the GTR founder will be present, supervising and coordinating at all times.

 

What insurance cover do we need?

Apart from your personal mandatory insurance cover, the cars and drivers will have complementary basic insurance during the tour.

 

How do we find our way?

We will equip you with a detailed roadbook and map. Feel free to bring a personal gps navigator, if you feel more comfortable.

 

What are the roads like?

We guarantee you will see many beautiful places while driving in Greece. Many routes go through old roads in the countryside and mountains. However, speed is not the target, pleasure and leisure is!

 

Is the GTR  just for people interested in cars?

What can we say? We love to drive our classics! You are welcome to join us for the scenery with a rented classic. Please e-mail us for details.

 

Is the GTR a challenging race?

No the GTR is all about fun! We will not spend the whole day behind the steering wheel.

 

What do we eat, and where?

Breakfast is included in the accommodation. We have carefully chosen the dinner venues to ensure delectable Mediterranean meals. This is your chance to avoid the tourist “traps” and really enjoy good honest food.

 

What clothes will I need?

Spring-time is tricky in Greece. Mid-May should be comfortably warm during the day and cool in the evenings. Keep track on a weather site on the days leading to the event:

Is the GTR all about driving?

We will be going on scenic road trips and staging fun skill competitions each day, ending at different locations. You will get the chance to visit archaeological monuments along the way and to meet other car enthusiasts from all over Europe. Plus surprises!!

 

What sort of people can I expect to be travelling with?

You will meet classic car lovers and drivers like you! We believe in driving our classics, not parking them for admiration.

 

I would like to join the GTR but I don’t have a  suitable car…

Whether you live too far to drive here or don’t own a ready-to-drive classic, we can provide you a car to rent for the event. Please e-mail us for information.
